Air Europa Adds New Flights to Latin America

Air Europa adds more destinations to Latin America

Air Europa is continuing with its expansion plan to Latin America and will be launching three new routes to Panama City, Panama, Iguazu, Argentina and Medellin, Columbia during 2019.

Second Flight to Colombia

Air Europa remains committed to Colombia, where it already operates daily flights to Bogota, and since 1st June it now offers three weekly flights to Medellin. This new route will be operated by the B787 Dreamliner.

Medellín is the capital of Colombia’s mountainous Antioquia province and is nicknamed the City of Eternal Spring for its temperate weather all year round.

Once famous for the drug lord Pablo Escobar the city has now been transformed and a popular turist attraction are sculptures are located in Botero Plaza by artist Fernando Botero.

Parque Lleras is the centre of nightlife in Medellín in the El Poblado neighborhood and has many great bars and restaurants

New Flight to Panama

A new flight to Panama, also operated by the Dreamliner aircraft, was launched on 3rd June 2019, with four flights a week between Madrid’s Barajas International Airport and Tocumen International Airport.

The flight frequency will increase to 6 flights a week during the next year.

There are code share arrangemenst with Copa Airlines to various central American countries in place.

Third flight to Argentina

Lastly, a twice-weekly flight to Puerto Iguazu, Argentina will commence in August 2019, the third destination in the country for Air Europa, after Buenos Aires and Cordoba. This will be the first international service for the airport, with the region being a popular tourist destination well known for the Iguazu Falls, the largest waterfall system in the world.

Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, also known as Mayor Carlos Eduardo Krause Airport, is an airport in Misiones Province, Argentina serving the city of Puerto Iguazú.

Madrid Hub

Air Europa’s long-haul flights to Latin America operate out of the airline’s hub at Madrid airport with short haul services connecting in from all over Europe, including a twice-daily service from London Gatwick.
